Fluorineinmoldpowderisknownasharmfultohumanhealthandtheenvironment.Beingtheadvocateofgreenproduction,Baosteeldevelopedanenvironmentallyfriendlymoldpowderwithoutfluorine.Themainproblemoffluorine-freefluxfilmissmallheatresistanceandthustheheattransferintensityofthemoldistoolarge,whichtosomeextenthinderstheincreaseofthecastingspeed.Withtheheatflowsimulationequipment,controllingprecipitationofcrystalinfluxandsolidificationtemperatureproperly,fluorine-freemoldpowderforlowcarbonsteel,whichsubstitutesFwithB2O3,wassuccessfullydevelopedandappliedinindustrialproduction.Theproductionresultsshowthat,byusingboronicfluorine-freemoldpowder,theboronincrementinmoltensteelislessthan1.3ppmforconventionalaluminiumkilledlowcarbonsteel.
