Inthispaper,somepropertiesofcentrosymmetricmatrices,whichoftenappearintheconstructionoforthonormalwaveletbasisinwaveletanalysis,areinvestigated.Asanapplication,analgorithmwhichistightlyrelatedtoaso-calledLawtonmatrixispresented.Inthisalgorithm,aboutonlyhalfofmemoryunitsarerequiredandquarterofcomputationalcostisneededbyexploitingthepropertyoftheLawtonmatrixandusingacompressiontechnique,itiscomparedtoonefortheoriginalLawtonmatrix.
