Theadsorptionofxenonfromairhasaninterestinthemonitoringofnuclearexplosionoraccident,orinthetreatmentofnuclearwastegas.Inthispaper,theporestructureofseveralseriesofactivatedcarbonfibershasbeencharacterized.Theadsorptionpropertiesofxenonontheseactivatedcarbonfibersunderdifferenttemperatureshavebeenstudiedindetails.Theresultsshowthatthexenonadsorptionamountonactivatedcarbonfibersdonotincreasewithspecificsurfaceareaofadsorbents,butarecloselyrelatedtotheirporesizedistribution.Poreswhoseradiusequaltoornarrowthan0.4nmwouldbemoreadvantageoustotheadsorptionofxenon.
