Numerical and Experimental Study on Aerodynamic Performance of Small Axial Flow Fan with Splitter Blades

Toimprovetheaerodynamicperformanceofsmallaxialflowfan,inthispaperthedesignofasmallaxialflowfanwithsplitterbladesisstudied.TheRNGk-εturbulencemodelandSIMPLEalgorithmwereappliedtothesteadysimulationcalculationoftheflowfield,anditsresultwasusedastheinitialfieldofthelargeeddysimulationtocalculatetheunsteadypressurefield.TheFW-Hnoisemodelwasadoptedtopredictaerodynamicnoiseinthesixmonitoringpoints.FastFouriertransformalgorithmwasappliedtoprocessthepressuresignal.Experimentofnoisetestingwasdonetofurtherinvestigatetheaerodynamicnoiseoffans.Andthentheresultsobtainedfromthenumericalsimulationandexperimentweredescribedandanalyzed.Theresultsshowthatthestaticcharacteristicsofsmallaxialfanwithsplitterbladesaresimilarwiththeprototypefan,andthestaticcharacteristicsareimprovedwithinacertainrangeofflux.Thepowerspectraldensityatthesixmonitoringpointsofsmallaxialflowfanwithsplitterbladeshavedecreasedtosomeextent.Theexperimentalresultsshowsoundpressurelevelofnewfanhasreducedinmostfrequencybandsbycomparingwithprototypefan.Theresearchresultswillprovideaproofforparameteroptimizationandnoisepredictionofsmallaxialflowfanswithhighperformance.
