Inthepresentpaper,amultifluidmodeloftwo-phaseflowswithpulverized-coalcombustion,basedonacontinuum-trajectorymodelwithreactingparticlephase,isdevelopedandemployedtosimulatethe3-Dturbulenttwo-phaseflowsandcombustioninanewtypeofpulverized-coalcombustorwithoneprimary-airjetplacedalongthewallofthecombustor.Theresultsshowthat:(1)thiscontinuum-trajectorymodelwithreactingparticlephasecanbeusedinpracticalengineeringtoqualitativelypredicttheflamestability,concentrationsofgasspecies,possibilitiesofslagformationandsootdeposition,etc.;(2)largerecirculationzonescanbecreatedinthecombustor,whichisfavorabletotheignitionandflamestabilization.
