Novel mechanical behavior of periodic structure with the pattern transformation

摘要 Inperiodiccellularstructures,novelpatterntransformationsaretriggeredbyareversibleelasticinstabilityundertheaxialcompression.Basedonthedeformation-triggerednewpattern,periodiccellularstructurescanachievespecialmechanicalproperties.Inthispaper,thedesignedarchitecturematerialswhichincludeelastomermatrixescontainingemptyholesorfilledholeswithhydrogelmaterialaremodeledandsimulatedtoinvestigatethemechanicalpropertyoftheperiodicmaterials.Byanalyzingtherelationshipbetweennominalstressandnominalstrainofperiodicmaterial,andthecorrespondingdeformedpatterns,theinfluenceofgeometryandshapesoftheholesonthemechanicalpropertyofarchitecturematerialisstudiedinmoredetails.Wehopethisstudycanprovidefutureperspectivesforthedeformation-triggeredperiodicstructures.
