  • 简介:Intheproductionofhotextrusionpipes,thebilletwillbeheatedinaninductionfurnace,beforepiercingorextrusion,toacertaintemperature.Theinductionheatingtemperaturefieldprofileinthebilletwillexertaninfluenceonthedeformationprocesses.ThestudyhasdevelopedandataconversionprogramtoconvertthetemperaturedatafrominductionheatingbyANSYStodeformationsimulationsoftwareDEFORM;therefore,notonlytherelativelyaccuratetemperaturefieldcanbemadeavailable,comparedwiththeusuallyassumeduniformtemperaturefield,butalsotheconnectionbetweeninductionheatinganddeformationcanbeestablished,whichisessentialtoevaluatetheprocessingparameters.Numericalsimulationofthepiercingprocessesofdifferenttemperaturefieldsbyinductionheatingwascarriedout,andtheresultshaveshownthatthedifferentinitialtemperaturefieldsinthebilletcanleadtodifferentdeformationcurves,whichindicatesthattheconversionprogramisnecessarytostudytheproductionprocessofhotextrusionpipes.

  • 简介:Thelimestone-gypsumfluegasdesulfurization(FGD)processhasbecomethemostwidespreadprocessintheworldforsulfurremoval.Theswirl-et-absorbingwetlimestone-gypsumsinteringFGDtechnologywasdevelopedforsinteringfluegasdesulfurization,andthisprocessproducesvolumesofwastewaterwithvariouscontaminantsthatrequirestreatmentbeforedisposalorreuse.Inthisstudy,thewastewaterqualityfromthreedifferentsinteringFGDsystemsatBaosteelGroupwasinvestigatedandcomparedwithwastewaterfrompowerplantFGD.AtreatmentprocesswasproposedwhichissuitableforsinteringFGDwastewater.Aftertreatmentwithaneutralization,coagulationandsedimentationprocess,heavymetalsinthesinteringFGDwastewaterwerereducedtoalevelmeetingtherelevantemissionstandards,butthepHandammoniaconcentrationweretoohigh,andafurthertreatmentprocesswasneeded.DuetocertainsimilaritiesandcomplementaritiesbetweensinteringFGDwastewaterandcokingwastewater,itisentirelyfeasibletomixthepretreatedsinteringFGDwastewaterintoabiologicalcokingwastewatertreatmentsystem.ThisstudyindicatesthatitisentirelyfeasibletomixpretreatedsinteringFGDwastewaterintothebiologicaltreatmentsystemsusedforcokingwastewaterfromtheironandsteelindustries.

  • 简介:Highfunctionalitygiventosteelproductsresultsinanincreaseofenvironmentalloadsinthesteelmakingstage.However,atthestageoftheirutilization,thehigh-functionalsteelproductsprovetobemoreenvironmentallyfriendlythantheirconventionalcounterpartsinmanycases.Inviewofthiscontradiction,theevaluationonthecontributionofsteelproductstoenvironmentalimprovementrequiresamoreintegratedapproach-LifeCycleAssessment(LCA),whichincorporatestheeffectsovertheproducts'entirelifecycles.Thispaperdiscussestherelationshipbetweentheimprovementofsteelproducts'performanceandtheaccordingenvironmentalimpactfromtheentirelifecycleperspectives.Howtoevaluateandassessthecontributionofhigh-functionalsteelproductstoenvironmentalimprovementusingLCAmethodisexplainedindetail.TwocasestudiesofBaosteelaregiventosubstantiatetheeffectivenessofLCAasascientificandsystematicmethodforeco-materialevaluationoreco-design:①Forapowertransformer,byreplacingsiliconsteelB30G130withB30P110,thecarbondioxideemissionswerereducedby15.1%overthelifecycleofthetransformer.②TinplatesteelofBaosteelusedfortwo-piecesteelcansexperiencedsixreductionsinthicknessfrom0.28mmto0.225mm,whichresultsina14.5%emissionreductionoverthelifecycleoftwo-piecesteelcans.

  • 简介:TheEuropeanstainlesssteelproducersgenerate20-30kgdustpertonofproducedstainlesssteel.ThedustformedduringvariousstagesoftheproductionprocesscontainsvaluablemetalssuchasCr,NiandMo.Ingeneralthisdustisconsideredasahazardouswaste.Ifnottakencareofthedustwillbeanenvironmentalriskcausingpotentialproblemssuchasleachingofheavymetalsintogroundwaterandpollutionoflandandair.Byapplyingtechniquesforrecyclingthedusttheproblemisminimizedandvaluablemetalsarerecoveredandre-usedasrawmaterialinthesteelmakingprocess,leadingtoasignificantreductionoftheconsumptionofnaturalresourcestodeceleratetheclimatechangeandensureasustainabledevelopment.OneofthebusinesssegmentsofBefesaZincS.L.U.,asubsidiarycompanyofAbengoa,istherecyclingofdustsandotherresiduescontainingnickel,chromiumandmolybdenumfromthestainlesssteelindustry.Thetechnologiesappliedaresubmergedarcreductionsmelting(BefesaValeraS.A.S.,Gravelines,France)andplasmareductionsmelting(BefesaScanDustAB,Landskrona,Sweden).Stainlesssteelplantdusts,millscaleandotherresiduesaredeliveredinclosedcontainersandbigbagsbyship,railortruckandstored.Afterapreparationoftheresiduesandchargingintothepyrometallurgicalfurnace,themetalcompoundscontainedinthechargearereducedtometalsinthepresenceofthecarbonadded.AtBefesaScanDust,theregularlytappedliquidmetaliscastintheformofgranulesviatheGranshot?granulationprocess.Thegranulatedproducthasmanyadvantagessuchasexcellentpreheatingpropertiesandfastmeltingwhenaddedtoametallurgicalprocess.Thegranulessizeandshapealsomakesitverysuitabletohandlewithmostrawmaterialhandlingsystems.Bygranulatingtheso-calledalloyedpigiron(API)ahighmetallicyieldisachievedensuringmaximumrecoveryofmetalandlessnewdustgenerationcomparedtoacrushedmaterial.Thegranulesareredeliveredtothestainlesss

  • 简介:Whenliquidsteelslagproducedfromsteelmakingprocesswastreatedintothepost-coldslagbyconventionalmethods,thegreatdealofslagheatwasdissipatedintotheenvironment,causingalotofenergywasteandenvironmentalpollution.Inthisstudy,anovelapproachofdirectutilizationofhotsteelslagasarawmaterialandslagheatfortheproductionofglass-ceramicswasproposedandexperimentallytested.Inordertosimulateliquidslagfromsteelmakingelectricfurnace,40%water-quenchedslagwasremeltedat1450℃andthenmixedwith60%meltingadditives(silicapowder,aluminapowderandsodiumoxide,etc.)andsubsequentlymeltedtogetherat1500℃for1hintomodifiedliquidslagwhichwascast,heat-treated,annealedandtransformedintoglass-ceramics.Theheat-treatedglasssampleswereinvestigatedusingdifferentialthermalanalysis(DTA),X-raydiffraction(XRD),andscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM).Theresultsshowthatdominantcrystallinephaseisdiopside[CaFe(SiO3)2]andtheshapeofthecrystalislikethegranule,diameterisabout0.2-0.6μm.Aglass-ceramicwithnucleationtemperatureof695℃fortwohoursandcrystallizationtemperatureof893℃foronehourand1163℃forhalf-hourexhibitedthebestcombinationofproperties.Thismethodofslagmixedwithmeltingadditivestoadjustthecompositionoftheparentglassisimportantfortheindustrialproductionofglass-ceramicsbydirectutilizationofhotsteelslag.

  • 简介:Anovelprocesstechnologytoprepareglass-ceramicsdirectlyfrommoltensteelslag(MSS)isproposedinthestudy.Theliquid-solidmixingmethodwasusedtoadjustthecomponentsoftheMSSandglass-ceramicswasobtained.Theeffectsofheat-treatmentconditionsonthemicrostructure,physicalandmechanicalpropertiesofsampleswerestudied.Economicalbenefitsofthenovelprocesswereanalyzed.Theresultsshowthatheat-treatmentisaveryeffectiveapproachtoachievingcrystallization.Thedominantcrystalphaseinproductsisdiopside[(Mg6Al2Fe2)Ca(Si1.5Al5)O2].Theshapeofthecrystallizationislikeagranule.Theglass-ceramicsamplesexhibitedgoodmechanicalpropertiesandpresentedchemicalstability.Theeconomicbenefitsoftheprocessareremarkableduetolessenergyconsumptioncomparedwithconventionalglass-ceramicsproductionmethods.
