  • 简介:OutgoingLongwaveRadiation(OLR)hasbeenshowntoplayanimportantroleinclimaticdiagnosisandlong-termpredictionandresearch.WiththeOLRdata1974~1997asobservedbysatellites,thecharacteristicsarecomputed.TheresultsareusedtodepictthelocationandintensityofthesubtropicalhighinthestudyoftherelationshipbetweentheannualfrequencyoftropicalcyclonesaffectingtheFujianprovinceandITCZ/subtropicalhigh.Itisshownthatinyearsoffewer(more)tropicalcyclones,theITCZissouthward(northward)locatedwithweaker(stronger)intensity,andthesubtropicalhighissouthward(northward).AsshownintherelationshipbetweentheanomalousyearsoftropicalcyclonesandcharacteristicsofprecedingOLRfields,theOLRanomaliesarejustoppositelydistributedinthePacificOceanforyearsofmore(fewer)tropicalcyclones.Inotherwords,theyearsoffewer(more)tropicalcyclonesareassociatedwithpositiveanomaliesofOLRinthetropicalwestPacificbutnegative(positive)anomaliesintheequatorialcentralandeasternPacific.Itishopedthatourstudybesettingfoundationforshort-termclimatologicalpredictionoftropicalcyclones.

  • 简介:ThispaperisrelatedtostudyoftheiondensityrecordedbythelowaltitudesatelliteDEMETER.Itwillpresentionosphericperturbationsobservedduringlargeseismicevents.Astheionosphereishighlyvariable,thepaperwillshowastatisticalanalysisperformedontheplasmaparametersduringnighttime.Analgorithmhasbeenimplementedtodetectcrestsandtroughsinthedatabeforeworld-wideearthquakes.Theearthquakeshavebeenclassifieddependingontheirmagnitude,depth,andlocation(land,belowthesea,closetoacoast).Duetotheorbit,DEMETERreturnsabovethesameareaeveryday(onceduringdaytime,onceduringnighttime)butnotatthesamedistanceofagivenepicenter.Then,foreachearthquake,datahavebeencheckeduntil15daysbeforetheshockwhenthedistancebetweenthetraceoftheorbitandtheepicenterislessthan1500km.Theresultsofthestatisticalanalysisarepresentedasfunctionsofvariousparameters.Acomparisonisdonewithtwootherdatabaseswhere,ononehand,thelocationoftheepicentershasbeenrandomlymodified,andontheotherhand,thelongitudeoftheepicentershasbeenshifted.Resultsshowthatthenumberandtheintensityoftheionosphericperturbationsarelargerpriortoearthquakesthanpriortorandomevents,andthattheperturbationsincreasewiththemagnitude.

  • 简介:BystatisticalresearchontheoccurrencepatternofsevereconvectiveweatherinJiangsuprovinceundertheinfluenceoftropicalcycloneswithina10-yearperiod(from2001to2010),thispaperdiscoversthatamongdifferentsevereconvectiveweather,theoccurrencefrequencyofshort-rangeheavyprecipitationisthehighest,thunderstormsandgalescomeinsecond,andgeneralthunderstormsrarelyhappen,whilehailstormsandtornadoesneveroccur.Thestatisticalresultsalsoshowedthatwithintheresearchperiodthereare21tropicalcyclones(TCs)affectingtheJiangsuareaandmostofthemareinthestageofweakeningtotropicaldepressions.Moreover,throughstudyingindicesforrelevantcasesofsevereconvection,itisdiscoveredthattheirthresholdsarelowerthanthatofpreviousresearch,whichindicatedthatconvectiveinstabilityandenergyaccumulationcaneasilyleadtosevereconvectiveweathereventuallyduetotheinfluenceofTCs.

  • 简介:EarthquakearchaeologicalresearchwasconductedinrecentyearsatfourarchaeologicalexcavationsitesinShandong,focusingontheidentificationandanalysisofthetectonicdeformationphenomena.Thenon-tectonicdeformationphenomenaweredistinguishedatthesiteoftheShangDynastyruinsatDaxinzhuangintheJinansuburbs.InLongshan,sandvein-filledcrackswererecognizedintheculturallayersoftheChengziyasite,ZhangqiuCity.SandveinsonthetrenchwallandsandtubesatthetrenchbottomwerefounddenselydistributedattheShangandZhouDynastyculturallayers,atQinhuangtaisite,BinzhouCity.Thetectonicandnon-tectonicorigincrackswereidentifiedonthecitywalloftheSiteofCapitalofStateQi,LinziCity.InRizhaocity,paralleldistributedsandveinfracturegroupswerefoundintheculturallayerofLongshan-WarringStates-HanDynastyatYaowangchengsite.TypicalconjugateshearfractureswereidentifiedonthecitywalloftheancientcityoftheStateofXue,TengzhouCity.TheabovenaturaldeformationphenomenaareconcentratedintheculturelayersoftheSpringandAutumn-WarringStates-HanDynastiesandbefore,andcharacterizedbyseismicsand-soilliquefactiontraces,whichindicatethattheseregionsmighthavebeenintheseismicactiveepisodesinthecorrespondingperiods.Theaboveinferencehasbeenconfirmedbymicroscopicdataanalysis.

  • 简介:Theroleplayedbythediffractionfieldontheproblemofseismicsiteeffectsisstudied.ForthatpurposewesolveandanalyzesimplescatteringproblemsunderPandSVin-planewaveassumptions,usingtwowellknowndirectboundary-element-basednumericalmethods.Afterestablishingthedifferencebetweenscatteredanddiffractedmotions,andintroducingtheconceptofartificiousandphysicallybasedincomingfields,weobtaintheamplitudeoftheFourierspectraforthediffractedpartoftheresponse:thisisachievedafterestablishingtheconnectionbetweenthespatialdistributionofthetransferfunctionoverthestudiedsimpletopographiesandthediffractedfield.Fromthenumericalsimulationsitisobservedthatthisdiffractedpartoftheresponseisresponsiblefortheamplificationofthesurfacegroundmotionsduetothegeometriceffect.Furthermore,itisalsofoundthatthediffractionfieldsetsinafingerprintofthetopographiceffectinthetotalgroundmotions.Theseconclusionsarefurthersupportedbyobservationsinthetime-domainintermsofsnapshotsofthepropagationpatternsoverthecompletecomputationalmodel.Inthissensethegeometricsingularitiesareclearlyidentifiedassourcesofdiffractionandfortheconsideredrangeofdimensionlessfrequenciesitisevidentthatlargeramplificationsareobtainedforthegeometriescontainingalargernumberofdiffractionsourcesthusresultinginastrongertopographiceffect.Theneedforclosed-formsolutionsofcanonicalproblemstoconstructarobustanalysismethodbasedonthediffractionfieldisidentified.

  • 简介:BasedondataofradiationfogeventsinXuanen,Hubeiprovince,2010,thispaperanalyzesthemicrophysicalprocessandevolutioncharacteristicsofradiationfogswithcomplicatedsubstrateintheupperandmiddlereachesoftheYangtzeRiver,andcomparesthemwithfindingsinotherareas.Resultsareasfollows:radiationfoginXuanenisevidentlyweakerindropletnumberconcentrationandliquidwatercontentthanlandfogsinotherareas.Itsliquidwatercontentfluctuatesobviously,0.01g/m3withvisibilityof1,000meters,whichisquitedifferentfromthatinurbanareas,butsimilartotheNanlingMountains.Bi-modaldropletdistributionislikelytooccurinXuanenmountainradiationfog(MRF)events.StatisticalanalysisshowsthattheobserveddropletsizedistributioncanbepiecewisedescribedwellbytheGammadistribution.Thereisapositivecorrelationbetweenliquidwatercontent,fogdropletconcentrationandmeanradius,especiallyinthedevelopmentanddissipationstage.CondensationgrowthanddropletevaporationaremajorprocessesofXuanenMRF.Thedissipationtimecoincidedwiththetimewhenthegrasstemperaturereachedthepeakvalue,whichindicatedthatdewevaporationisakeyroleinmaintainingXuanenMRF.Intheearlystageofdensefog'sgrowth,dropletswithdiameterofover20micrometerscanbeobservedwithvisibilityof800-1,000m,whichmightbecausedbythetransportationoflowclouddropletstoearth'ssurfacebyturbulence.Bigdropletsintheinitialstagecorrespondtohigherwatercontent,leadingtothehigherobservedvalueofwatercontentofXuanenMRF.
