  • 简介:Inthispaper,anultrathinmetalenshasbeenproposedbasedonaholographicmetasurfacethatconsistsofelongatedaperturesin40nmgoldfilm,whichexhibitintriguingpropertiessuchason-andoff-axisfocusingandalsocanconcentratelightintomultiple,discretespotsforcircularlypolarizedincidentlights.First,thespatialtransmissionphasedistributionsofthedesignedmetalenswitharbitraryfocusingcanbeobtainedbycomputergeneratedholography.Then,thediscretephasedistributionscanbecontinuouslyencodedbysubwavelengthnanoapertureswithspatiallyvaryingorientationsingoldfilm.Thesimulationresultsshowthatourdesignedmetalenscanworkefficientlyfordifferenttypesoffocusing.Finally,ourmetasurfaceshowssuperiorbroadbandcharacteristicsbetween670and810nm,andthecorrespondingfocallengthsofthedesignedlensesalsocanbeefficientlymodulatedwiththeincidentlightsatdifferentwavelengths.

  • 简介:Opticalaxialscanningisessentialprocesstoobtain3Dinformationofbiologicalspecimens.Torealizeopticalaxialscanningwithoutmoving,thetunablelensisasolution.However,theconventionaltunablelensesusuallyinducenon-uniformmagnificationandresolutionissues.Inthispaper,wereportamovableelectrowettingoptofluidiclens.Unliketheconventionaltunablelens,ourproposedoptofluidiclenshastwoliquid-liquid(L-L)interfaces,whichcanmoveinthecellbyanexternalvoltage.TheobjectdistanceandimagedistanceareadjustedbyshiftingtheL-Linterfaceposition.Therefore,theproposedlenscanrealizeopticalaxialscanningwithuniformmagnificationandresolutioninmicroscopy.Toprovetheconcept,wefabricateanoptofluidiclensanduseitinopticalaxialscanning.Thescanningdistanceismorethan1mmwithuniformmagnificationandgoodimagingquality.Widespreadapplicationofsuchanewadaptivezoomlensisforeseeable.

  • 简介:AIM:Todescribetheresultsof5consecutivecasesofclearlensextractioninangleclosurepatientsforthetreatmentofelevatedintraocularpressure(IOP).·METHODS:Retrospectiveobservationalcaseseries.Allangleclosurepatientswereontwoormoretopicalglaucomamedicationsandhadpriorlaseriridotomy.Eyesunderwentclearlensextractionbyphacoemu-lsificationwithintraocularlensimplantation.·RESULTS:Allfivepatientsinthiscaseseriescarriedthediagnosisofangle-closureglaucomaandhaduncontrolledIOPpriortosurgerydespitetopicalmedications.AfterclearlensextractionthreeofthecaseshadgoodIOPcontrol(IOP<22mmHg)withouttheneedfortopicalmedications.InonecasetheIOPwasbettercontrolledaftersurgery,however,topicalmedicationswererequired.ThedesiredIOPwasnotmetinonecasedespiterestartingmaximumtopicaltherapy.·CONCLUSION:Thiscaseseriessuggeststhattheremaybearolefortherapeuticclearlensextractioninselectcasesofangle-closureglaucoma.

  • 简介:Metasurfaceshavebecomeanewphotonicstructureforprovidingpotentialapplicationstodevelopintegrateddeviceswithsmallthickness,becausetheycanintroduceanabruptphasechangebyarraysofscatterers.Tobeappliedmorewidely,activemetasurfacedevicesarehighlydesired.Here,atunableterahertzmeta-leuswhosefocallengthisabletobeelectricallytunedby-4.45λisdemonstratedexperimentally.Thelensconsistsofametallicmetasurfaceandamonolayergraphene.Duetothedependenceoftheabruptphasechangeofthemeta-surfaceonthegraphenechemicalpotential,whichcanbemodulatedusinganappliedgatevoltage,thefocallengthischangedfrom10.46to12.24mmwhenthegatevoltageincreasesfrom0to2.0V.Experimentalresultsareingoodagreementwiththetheoreticalhypothesis.Thistypeofelectricallycontrolledmeta-lenscouldwidentheapplicationofterahertztechnology.
