简介:Syntheticseismogramsgeneratedbysolvingtheseismicwaveequationusingnumericalmethodsarebeingwidelyusedinseismology.Forfullythree-dimensionalseismicstructuremodels,thegenerationofthesesyntheticseismogramsmayrequirelargeamountofcomputingresources.Conventionalhigh-performancecomputerclustersmaynotprovideacost-effectivesolutiontothistypeofapplications.Thenewlyemergingcloud-computingplatformprovidesanalternativesolution.Inthispaper,wedescribeourimplementationofasyntheticseismogramgeneratorbasedonthereciprocityprincipleusingtheWindowsAzurecloudapplicationframework.Ourpreliminaryexperimentshowsthatourcloud-basedsyntheticseismogramgeneratorprovidesacosteffectiveandnumericallyefficientapproachforcomputingsyntheticseismogramsbasedonthereciprocityprinciple.
