简介:Thegrowthandcoalescenceoftwomicroholesincopperfoilwerestudiedexperimentallybyinsitutensiletestsundera,scanningelectronicmicroscope.Twomicroholesof15-35μmindi-ameterwerearrangedindifferentdistancesandorientations.Itwasfoundthatthemechanismsofmicroholeevolutionwererepresentedbyslippingbandcreation,andthencrackinitiationandpropagationalongtheslippingbands,inligament.Theprocessofmicroholegrowthandcoalescencewasinfluencedbytheinter-centerdistanceandorientationofmicroholes.Thecriticalsurfaceofmicroholesatcoales-cenceisabout2—2.5timesthatoftheinitialone.Thevariationofboththeintercenterdistanceandorientationdependsontheinitialangle.
简介:Thenaturalfrequencies,complexmodesandcriticalspeedsofanaxiallymovingrectangularplate,whichispartiallyimmersedinafluidandsubjectedtoapretension,areinvestigated.Theeffectsoffreesurfacewaves,compressibilityandviscidityofthefluidareneglectedintheanalysis.Thesubsectionfunctionsareusedtodescribethediscontinuouscharacteristicsofthesystemduetopartialimmersion.Theclassicalthinplatetheoryisadoptedtoformulatetheequationsofmotionofavibratingplate.ThevelocitypotentialandBernoulli’sequationareusedtodescribethefluidpressureactingonthemovingplate.Theeffectoffluidonthevibrationsoftheplatemaybeequivalenttotheaddedmassontheplate.Theeffectsofdistanceratio,movingspeed,immersed-depthratio,boundaryconditions,stiffnessratioandaspectratiooftheplateaswellasthefluid-platedensityratiosonthefreevibrationsofthemovingplate-fluidsystemareinvestigated.

简介:TensileimpactexperimentsofEC8.0-24×7glassfiberbundlesatdifferentlowtempera-turesT(14℃,-40℃and-100℃)andstrainratesεwerecarriedout,andcompletestress-straincurveswereobtained.Withintherangeoftheexperimenttemperaturesandstrainrates,itisfoundthattheinitialmodulusE,theultimatestrengthσmaxandtheunstablestrainεboftheglassfiberbundlesallincreasewithatanidenticalT.Atanidenticalε,withthedecreaseofT,Eandσmaxincrease;butεbincreaseswhen14℃>T>-40℃anddecreaseswhen-40℃>T>-100℃.Thestrain-rate-andtemperature-depen-dentbimodalWeibullstatisticalconstitutivetheorywasadoptedforthestatisticalanalysisoftheexperimentalresults,andtheWeibullparametersofsinglefiberwereobtained.TheresultsshowthatthebimodalWeibulldistributionfunctionissuitabletorepresentthestrengthdistributionoftheglassfiberatlowtemperatureanddifferentstrainrates.ThedifferencesinthemechanicalpropertiesbetweenEC8.0-24×7andEC5.5-12×14glassfiberbundleswerealsodiscussed.
简介:Inthispaper,variousstrategiesofspiralirradiatingschemefortheflameformingofabowlshapedsurfaceareinvestigatedexperimentallyandnumerically.Experimentalworkisperformedusingaflametorchintegratedwitha2-axisCNCworkstation.TheABAQUSimplicitsolverisusedinthenumericalsimulation.Threedifferentstrategiesofthespiralirradiatingschemeareinvestigatedfortheflameformingofabowlshapedsurface.ThefirststrategyistheSimplespiralirradiatingscheme,thesecondistheRotationalspiralirradiatingscheme,andthethirdistheSymmetrical-Rotationalspiralirradiatingscheme.TheresultsshowthatusingtheSymmetricalRotationalspiralirradiatingscheme,abowlshapedsurfacewiththemaximumdeformationcanbeproduced,followedbyusingtheRotationalscheme,andtheSimplespiralscheme.ItisalsoconcludedfromtheresultsthatthespiralirradiatingschemewithSymmetrical-Rotational,RotationalandSimplespiralschemesleadtothemaximumsymmetriesintheproducedbowlshapedsurface,respectively.Allthenumericalresultsareingoodagreementwiththeexperimentalobservations.

简介:Equilibriumpathsofpost-bucklingaremeasuredforlargeslendernesscolumnspecimensmadeofthefiberreinforcedcompositematerial.Theinfluenceoftheinitialcurvatureisinvestigatedexperimentallyandcomparedwiththeresultoftheinitialpost-bucklingtheory.Boththetheoreticalandexperimentalresultsrevealthatthecolumnwiththeinitialcurvaturehasstablepost-bucklingbe-haviorsandisnotsensitivetotheimperfectionintheformofinitialcurvature.Theexperimentalre-sultsshowthatwhenthelateralbucklingdisplacementislessthan20percentofthecolumnlength,theexperimentalresultsagreewiththeresultsfromthetheoryofinitialpost-bucklingquitewell,whiletheyagreewiththeresultsfromthelargedeflectiontheoryinaquitelargerange.

简介:Anin-depthanalysisofpropagationcharacteristicsofelasto-plasticcombinedstresswavesincircularthin-walledtubeshasbeenmade.Inobtainingthesimple-wavesolution,however,mostresearcheshaveignoredtheinfluenceofthecircumferentialstressrelatedtotheradialinertialeffectinthetubes.Inthispapertheincrementalelasto-plasticconstitutiverelationswhichareconvenientfordynamicnumericalanalysisareadopted,andthefinite-differencemethodisusedtostudytheevolutionandpropagationofelasto-plasticcombinedstresswavesinathin-walledtubewiththeradialinertialeffectofthetubeconsidered.Thecalculationresultsarecomparedwiththoseobtainedwhentheradialinertialeffectisnotconsidered.Thecalculationresultsshowthattheradialinertialeffectofatubehasafairlygreatinfluenceonthepropagationofelasto-plasticcombinedstresswaves.
