New method for lightning location using optical ground wire-中国期刊网

摘要 Anewtechnologyoflightninglocationisdescribed,whichisbasedondetectingthestateofpolarization(SOP)fluctuationofthelaserlightintheopticgroundwire(OPGW).Comparedwiththeconventionallightninglocationmethod,thenewmethodismoreaccurate,morestable,andcheaper.TheoriesofStokesparametersandPoincaresphereareintroducedtoanalyzetheSOPatthelightningstrikepoint.ItcanbeconcludedthatalthoughtheinitialpointsofSOPonthePoincarespherearerandom,theSOPfluctuationgeneratedbylightningstrikecanstillbeaccuratelyidentifiedbydetectingthevelocityofpolarizationmotion.Anewalgorithmtoquantifythevelocityisalsointroduced.
