NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF FLOW-INDUCED VIBRATION ON TWO CIRCULAR CYLINDERS IN TANDEM ARRANGEMENT

摘要 Flow-inducedvibrationoftwocircularcylindersintandemarrangementelasticallymountedwithamass-spring-dampingsystemwasstudiedbysolvingtheprimitivevariableNavier-StokesequationsincorporatingtheArbitraryLagrangian-Eulerian(ALE)method.Theconvectiontermanddissipationtermwerediscretizedusingthethird-orderupwindcompactschemeandthefourth-ordercentralcompactscheme,respectively.Thetypicalspacingbetweenthecylindersis4diameters,whichisclosetothecriticalvalue.Thedynamicresponseofthevibrationsontwocylinderswithtwo-degree-of-freedommotionisdifferentfromthatofanisolatedcylinder,andalsodifferentfromthatofacylindervibratinginthewakeofafixedupstreamone.Differentflowpatternswerefoundinthewake,andprovedtoberelevanttothediscontinuitiesobservedintheresponseoftheoscillatorycylinders.
