摘要
Mobileadhocnetworks(MANETs)aregainingalotofattentioninresearchlatelyduetotheirimportanceinenablingmobilewirelessnodestocommunicatewithoutanyexistingwiredorpredeterminedinfrastructures.Furthermore,inordertosupportthegrowingneedformultimediaandrealtimeapplications,qualityofservice(QoS)supportbythenetworkingprotocolisrequired.SeveralimportantQoSparametersthatareneededbysuchapplicationscanbeidentified.Theyincludebandwidth,end-to-enddelay,delayjitter,andbiterrorrate.Agoodamountofresearchhasbeendevelopedinthisareacoveringdifferentissuesandchallengessuchasdevelopingroutingprotocolsthatsupportbandwidthreservationanddelaymanagement.Inthispaper,thecurrentstateofresearchforQoSsupportinTDMA-basedMANETsatdifferentlayersofthenetworkingmodelispresentedandcategorized.Inaddition,thecurrentissuesandfuturechallengesinvolvedinthisexcitingareaofresearcharealsoincluded.
