摘要
Specificchangesinlandusecan,andoftendo,occurwhenanysocialeconomicsystemmovesfromoneformtoanother.Whentraditionalsocietiestransitfromtraditionallandusestophilosophicallydeterminedlanduses,asinthecaseoftheintroductionofsooialismorthetransitionfromsystemofplannedeconomytoamarketsystem,suchchangesseemconcentratedandperhapsexacerbated.Certainly,suchcircumstancesprovidetheopportunitytoseetheprocessofsocialphilosophyanditsimpactuponlanduseinatelescopedfashion.Thediscoveryandexplanationoftheseelementsmightprovidesomeinsightintobasichumanbehavior,anditsrelationshiptosocialcontrotandhowpeopleorganizespacebothwithandwithoutcontrol.ThispaperpresentstheresultsofobservationsofchangesinlanduseastheyhaveoccurredduringthecourseoftransitionaleconomicdevelopmentinBeijing,Chinaforthepastdecade,itsuggeststhreenewgenericcategoriesthatcanbeappliedtoanycultureorsociety.
