摘要
Numericalsimulationsusingvolumeoffluid(VOF)methodareperformedtostudytheimpactofliquid-to-gasdensityratioonthetrajectoryofnonturbulentliquidjetsingaseouscrossflows.Inthispaper,largeeddysimulation(LES)turbulencemodeliscoupledwiththeVOFmethodtodescribetheturbulenceeffectsaccurately.Inaddition,dynamicadaptivemeshrefinementmethodwithtworefinementlevelsisappliedtorefinethesizeofthecellslocatedatgas-liquidinterface.Densityratioischangedfrom10to5000whileothernondimensionalnumbersarekeptconstant.Largedensityratiosareconsideredinthispapersincetheyarecommoninmanypracticalapplicationssuchassolutionprecursor/suspensionplasmasprays.Oursimulationsshowthatthepenetrationheight,especiallyinthefarfield,increasesasthedensityratioincreases.Ageneralcorrelationforthejettrajectory,whichcanbeusedforawiderangeofdensityratios,isdevelopedbasedonoursimulationresults.
