摘要
Theoptimalmatrixmethodandoptimalelementalmethodusedtoupdatefiniteelementmodelsmaynotprovideaccurateresults.Thissituationoccurswhenthetestmodalmodelisincomplete,asisoftenthecaseinpractice.Animprovedoptimalelementalmethodispresentedthatdefinesanewobjectivefunction,andasabyproduct,circumventstheneedformassnormalizedmodalshapes,whicharealsonotreadilyavailableinpractice.Tosolvethegroupofnonlinearequationscreatedbytheimprovedoptimalmethod,theLagrangemultipliermethodandMatlabfunctionfminconareemployed.Todealwithactualcomplexstructures,thefloat-encodinggeneticalgorithm(FGA)isintroducedtoenhancethecapabilityoftheimprovedmethod.Twoexamples,a7-degreeoffreedom(DOF)mass-springsystemanda53-DOFplanarframe,respectively,areupdatedusingtheimprovedmethod.Thcexampleresultsdemonstratetheadvantagesoftheimprovedmethodoverexistingoptimalmethods,andshowthatthegeneticalgorithmisaneffectivewaytoupdatethemodelsusedforactualcomplexstructures.
