摘要
ThecurrentstatusofecotourisminruralChinawasanalyzedinthispaper.EmpiricalsurveyscoveringthewholecountryindicatethatecotourisminruralChinahasattractedalargenumberoftouristswho,however,didn’tgeneraterevenuesthatcanmatchthenumber.Althoughtheenvironmentalqualityofthoseruralecotourismdestinationsishighwithlittlenegativeimpacts,severalproblemshavealreadyappeared,suggestinganeedtomonitorthoseareas.Thecurrentpracticeofinterpretationinmostruralecotourismdestinationsdidnotprovideenvironmentaleducationopportunitiestothetourists.Andlocalcommunitiesneedmoreeffectivewaystodecideontheprospectsoflocalecotourismdevelopmentbythemselves.Finally,afewrecommendationsforimprovingthesustainabilityofecotourismdestinationswereprovided.
